Check-ups

When you book a dental check-up, we will examine your mouth, teeth and gums and ask you about any issues you may be experiencing since your last check-up. A check-up is also important to check for signs of cancer or other potential problems. During your check-up dentists can offer advice on general mouth care and how to maintain healthy teeth.

Check-up FAQs

Have a question? We’re here to help.

  • What can I expect when I book a dental check-up?

When you book a dental check-up, one of our friendly dentists will examine your mouth, teeth and gums and ask you about any issues you may be experiencing since your last check-up. It is also an opportunity for you to discuss with your dentist any issues you may be experiencing related to your overall mouth health since your last check-up.

  • Why are regular dental check-ups so important?

Not only is a dental check-up important to maintain general mouth health, it is also an opportunity for your dentist to check your mouth, lips and neck for any signs of cancer, or other potential diseases.

  • What if I need further treatment after my dental check-up?

If your dentist advises your teeth require further treatment, we can agree a timescale and treatment plan that works for you.  Any future private dental treatment will be discussed in detail, to ensure you have a full understanding of what is being offered. A full treatment estimate will also be provided prior to your appointment.

  • Can I discuss cosmetic treatments at my next dental check?

Yes, your dentist will offer you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding cosmetic treatments such as tooth whitening, Invisalign, air polishing and veneers.

Emergency Treatment

If you require emergency dental treatment, it is important you contact Pannal Dental Clinic immediately and we will do our very best to get you an emergency dental appointment. We also offer out of hours and weekend appointments with dentists for emergency treatment, for registered and new patients.

Not only can an emergency dental appointment usually ease your pain and discomfort, receiving prompt dental treatment can often decrease the likelihood of your dental issues worsening.

Emergency Treatment FAQs

Have a question? We’re here to help.

  • What should you do if a tooth gets knocked out?

If your tooth is knocked out, and the tooth remains whole, it is often possible to save it. An avulsed tooth will need to be put back into the socket as soon as possible. If you cannot get to a dentist for emergency treatment, sterilise the tooth and then holding it by the crown, insert the root back into the socket. Always take care to avoid touching the root. Bite down on a tissue for approximately 20 minutes.

  • What if my tooth becomes partially dislodged?

If your tooth becomes partially dislodged due to an impact injury, it is important you leave the tooth and book to see a dentist for emergency treatment straight away. Never try to pull the tooth out as this will decrease the chances of the tooth being saved.

  • What do I do if I have a chipped tooth (tooth fracture)?

There are several types of tooth fracture, which all require different methods of emergency dental treatment. If you chip your tooth, contact Pannal Dental Clinic immediately to book a dentist for emergency treatment. Your dentist can then choose the right repair method for your tooth fracture.

  • What is the cost of local dentist emergency treatment?

The cost of your emergency dental appointment will be determined based on the type of work your teeth require. Your dentist will do a thorough examination of your mouth and discuss treatment options in more detail during your appointment.

"Emily and Rachel have always been so nice and kind during my check ups. I really don't mind going to the dentist - I thought it would hurt but it really doesn't hurt at all."
